What an affiliate link is

When you click certain links and then buy something, the retailer records that the visit came from us and pays us a small percentage of the sale. You pay the same price you would have paid arriving any other way.

Which links

Links to products at retailers we have an affiliate relationship with. Links to other articles, references, manufacturers we have no relationship with, and anything else on the site are ordinary links and earn us nothing.

What it does not change

It does not change what we recommend, the order things appear in, or how we describe them. We write the study first and look for where to buy the pieces afterwards. Where the honest recommendation is to buy second-hand — as it usually is with leather — we say that, and it earns us nothing.

About the imagery

The room photographs on this site are AI-rendered concept images, labelled as such on every post. The furniture shown in them does not exist and is not for sale. Any product we link to is a real, separately sourced item that suits the idea being described — not the item in the picture, because there is no item in the picture.
